Stand Up Comedy For Beginners


44 Gaukel Street, Kitchener

New to Kitchener-Waterloo! A unique, hands-on course to introduce the basics of stand up comedy, whether you’re new to stand up or just curious!

Our class culminates in a fun and suportive show to invite friends and family to attend.

Course Schedule: Sundays for 8 weeks, class is 2 hours in length (Time: To Be Confirmed)

Special Introductory Price: $150 per person (a $50 discount!)

I am an experienced arts workshop facilitator and am always excited to work with new groups. I’ve presented programming to a diverse array of organizations, including the Toronto Public Library, the Feminist Art Conference (Toronto), Toronto District Schools and more.

1 Day Workshops available:

Storytelling and the Art of Personal Narrative: a general daylong intensive to introduce participants to the art of storytelling and aid them in preparing a short piece for live performance.

SOS Programs (Sharing Our Stories): workshops target the specific needs of groups who traditionally have had their voices ignored or silenced.

Possible offerings include:

  • Queer and Trans Voices SOS
  • Women’s Voices SOS
  • Young Voices SOS
  • Voices of Recovery SOS
  • Native & POC Voices (co-facilitated)
